Violin Shoulder Rests

We carry a good selection of Shoulder Rests from Kun, Wolfe, Viva La Muisca, Steinbach, FOM, DADI and Ransen. We have them in all sizes suitable from 4/4 down to 1/4 size.

The use of a shoulder rest is encouraged by most teachers today. It provides valuable support for the violin under the chin and reduces damage to the neck. It can also transform a young players posture, improve control of the instrument and is highly recommended. We always carry a selection in stock. The cheapest by FOM will just about do the job but we recommend the Kun or one of it's oriental copies as a better option.

Model - Tido(1/2)

A very nicely made Shoulder Rest from Tido Musica. This one will fit a 1/2 size violin (the photograph shows it attached to a 1/2 size instrument) but will also fit a 1/4 and 1/8 size instruments. Though these shoulder rests are made in China they should not be confused with the poorly made and badly finished goods of the past, these are beautifully made and finished.

Another very nicely made shoulder rest from Tido Musica. Very similar in size and shape to the Kun Collapsible but on this model the grippers don't fold down. Very nicely shaped with a soft but firm foam pad. Tido are one of the best manufacturers in China and we are happy to recommend this shoulder rest. This will fit both full size & 3/4 size violins.

A very classy shoulder rest at a very reasonable price. A lovely curved wooden frame supports a soft foam pad against your shoulder. The fittings for the violin are padded with thick rubber and adjusted with good quality brass fittings. It comes in a very attractive Red velvet bag and a presentation case. Really excellent value.
