The Primavera Loreato is the highest level in the Primavera range. Made from well selected Spruce and with a nicely figured Maple Back, Ribs and Neck. The violin shows finer workmanship than many student violins and this shows in the improved tone and playability.
The Fingerboard, pegs, chinrest and endpin are of good quality Ebony. The violin has Swiss model pegs and a Teka model chinrest usually only found on better quality instruments.
The varnish has an attractive semi matt finish with slight antiquing.
We take the best of these violins and spend quite a lot of time in setting them up. We replace the factory steel strings with a set of Corelli Crystal and as well as our normal setup for the basic violin we spend time lightening and adjusting the bridge, replacing and adjusting the sound-post and re-working the nut and fingerboard.
The result is a much better sounding violin that is also easier to play. The tone is quite mellow with plenty of depth on the G & D strings and very pleasant upper tones from the A & E strings. The violin is quite well balanced from string to string and without harshness.
The Case is a good quality and very stylish oblong model with room for two bows and compartments for shoulder rest, rosin and spare strings. The exterior is of waterproof black fabric and the inner of deep red plush. There is an external full length zipped pocket to hold music and detachable shoulder straps so that the case can be carried on the back like a knapsack.
There is also a robust carbon composite bow with an ebony frog and unbleached white horsehair. Lastly a Hidersine V3 Rosin.
A much improved version of an already good violin and quite suitable for the better student needing a violin for grade 3 and above.
Customer Comments: The Loreato is, I believe, exceptional value for money. I was initially hesitant about paying extra for the upgraded 'Plus' model. I'm very glad I took this option now, as the tonal qualities and playability of this instrument are quite outstanding.
