The Galiano, a good quality violin. The basic violin was beautifully made in China and completed to a high standard by ourselves.
The front is of well cut spruce and the back, ribs and neck are of very well figured Maple. We have fitted the instrument with good quality Ebony pegs and end button with Paris Eye inserts. The Chinrest is of a Tecka design and made from A grade Ebony.
The hand applied oil varnish has a very attractive semi-matt finish.
We have fitted Piratsro Tonica strings and after some adjustment the violin plays very well. The balance between strings is very good with a nice warm G & D string, a clear A string and a bell like E string. It is a very predictable instrument to play, with good dynamics and yet quite forgiving. It's always a good sign when you don't want to put a violin down, this is one of those violins.
We have supplied a good quality Brazilwood bow with an Ebony frog inlaid with a flower design in Mother of Pearl.
Also included is a Hidersine De-Luxe Rosin and a good quality lightweight rectangular case with a Dark Brown waterproof cover and a deep red lining. There is an external zipped pocket to hold music and plenty of space for a shoulder rest, spare strings and rosin. Detachable straps are also included so that the case may be carried on the back like a knapsack.
A very attractive violin outfit that looks superb and plays just as well.
