A hand made copy of "The Cessol" a violin originally made by Antoni Stradivari in 1716. This is a beautifully made instrument with an exceptionally finely grained spruce front and an exccellent choice of Maple for the back, ribs and neck. The pegs, tailpiece and end button are of fine rosewood with a Paris Eye decoration, the chinrest finely carved from the same wood.
This violin was made in a small workshop in Bejing and is a stunning interpratation of a fine Ialian instrument.
This is a very authentic copy to the extent that the varnish has been very cleverly antiqued and you would be hard pressed to know that it wasn't a very old violin.
We set the instrument up in our workshop with an Aubert bridge and a set of Thomastik Dominant strings. The result is a really nice violin, which would be suitable for young musicians going to University or a Conservatoire or for a professional player looking for a second instrument.
It has plenty of power and good depth of tone on all strings. We have had several orchestral players try this instrument and all have described it as a very nice violin.
The recommended retail price for this instrument is £1500.00, we are offering it for less than this and including a Pernambuco bow, a Gustave Bernadel rosin and a good quality oblong case. The case has a moulded wooden core and is covered with a padded imitation leather cloth and lined with a brown suede lining. The case includes the usual pockets for rosin, shoulder rest and spare strings and also a hygrometer, a tube for strings and places for four bows.
We only have one of these at this price so grab it while you can.
