This is a very unusual violin. It's a very good quality model Gems 1 from Gliga but has been made from the beginning as a left handed instrument.
The Gems 1 instrument is described by Gliga as a workshop version of the Gems II. This is a violin made from superior wood, especially the flamed Maple back, and also made with a little more attention to detail. The edge work and scroll is noticeably better, as is the internal structure.
The sound has the same warmth as the Gems II but is a little more smooth and more consistent from string to string.
This violin has had one careful owner, and has been set up in our workshop with a set of Pirastro Violino Strings. We have also fitted a light alloy tailpiece with built in adjusters, more suited to a student than the tailpiece with a single adjuster that Gliga normally supply.
Left handed violins of this quality are very rare. Gliga charge approximately 33% more for the left handed versions of their violins.
Our price makes this outfit exceptional value for money.
If you know any left handed players, tell them about this instrument, you could be doing them a real favour.
Comes with brazilwood bow, rosin, and a sturdy oblong case with plush lining and violin blanket.
