Stentor Conservatoire Viola 14"

This Stentor Conservatoire 14 inch Viola is an intermediate quality viola imported from China by Stentor.

The instrument is nicely made with hand carved tone woods, Spruce for the front and lightly flamed Maple for the back, ribs and neck. The fingerboard, pegs and chinrest are of Ebony. The tailpiece is the standard Stentor light alloy offering with integral fine adjusters.

We have set-up this viola in our workshop, replaced the sound post and fitted a new set of D'Addario Zyex strings.

The set-up and new parts have improved both the sound and playability of the instrument. The C & G strings are full and warm and the D & A quite well focussed.  The strings are well balanced.  The slightly lower string action has made a big difference to the ease of playing, especially on fast passages.

The Bow is a reasonable quality octagonal Brazilwood variety with white horsehair.

The viola comes in the original oblong Stentor case with internal blanket. There is an external zipped compartment suitable for carrying music and detachable straps so that the case can be carried like a knapsack.

This viola has responded very well to our upgrade and is a very good mid priced student outfit.

These violas retail new for around £500 with this string upgrade.  This is a bargain not to be missed!
